REACH, which stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, is the European Union’s (EU) chemical management regulation. Adopted in December 2006, the regulation entered into force on June 1, 2007, although most of its key provisions will not apply until June 1, 2008, when the European Chemicals Agency becomes operational.
In total, REACH encompasses over 140 different articles, 17 distinct annexes, almost 300 pages of text, and hundreds of pages of guidance, with the latter figure expected to grow considerably as still more guidance is issued.
Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C) offers a full range of REACH consulting services. These services are uniquely enhanced by The Acta Group EU, Ltd’s ability to serve as an Only Representative (OR) on behalf of non-EU companies -- manufacturers of substances, formulators of preparations, or producers of articles -- and as a Third Party Representative on behalf of EU entities and data holders that wish to participate in a particular Substance Information Exchange Forum.
