There is an increase in global regulatory action on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs), particularly in the EU and North America. At Chemical Watch’s PFAS Updates conference, key stakeholders from authorities, industry, and academia focused on fluoropolymers and their alternatives in the EU. They looked at regulatory trends in the US, including the regulation of PFASs as a class. Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Director of Chemistry, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), presented “Chemical Identity and the EPA Process for Approving new PFAS Chemicals.”
