TSCA Reform — Prospects On Passage And Thoughts On Implementation

Competing proposals are working their way through the House and Senate to amend the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the nation's primary law for managing chemicals in commerce, including biobased and renewable chemicals. Unfortunately, the Senate will not be taking up the TSCA reform issue until after the August recess. Supporters of TSCA reform remain optimistic, but the delay is not welcome news.
