Advanced Bioeconomy Leadership Conference To Include Speakers From BRAG And B&C
The Advanced Bioeconomy Leadership Conference 2016 (ABLC 2016) will be held February 17-19, 2016 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C. ABLC is the gathering point for top leaders in the Advanced Bioeconomy — bringing together the entire spectrum of advanced fuels, chemicals, and materials CEOs and senior executives, business development, R&D leaders, strategic partners, financiers, equity analysts, policymakers, and industry suppliers.
Richard E. Engler, Ph.D., Senior Chemist for Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®), will present "TSCA and the Cellulosic Revolution" during the "Cellulosic fuels: first commercials and beyond" session on February 18, "a look at first commercials and multi-year, multi-location deployments – who's adopting, what feedstocks, what policy supports are working, and where."
Kathleen M. Roberts, Executive Director of the Biobased and Renewable Products Advocacy Group (BRAG®), will present "Cooperative Efforts Critical in Reducing Regulatory Commercialization Obstacles: A BRAG Update," on February 19 during the "Consortia and Partnerships" session. Changing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policies to eliminate the regulatory inequity for novel source substances requires strong coordinated and collaborative efforts from the industry. BRAG successfully advocated for reduced reporting for the biodiesel industry in 2015, and Ms. Roberts will present opportunities for further engagement from impacted stakeholders to achieve similar success for novel biobased chemicals made from algae, microbes, or non-traditional plant sources.
