Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. Silver Sponsor of SRA Nano Risk Analysis (II)
Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C®) is proud to once again be sponsoring an SRA Nano Workshop in conjunction with the Emerging Nanoscale Materials Specialty Group of the Society for Risk Analysis. Nano Risk Analysis (II) will be held September 15-16, 2014, at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and it is not too late to join in: walk-up registrations are welcome. B&C’s Jane S. Vergnes, Ph.D., DABT®, Senior Toxicologist, and J. Brian Xu, M.D., Ph.D., DABT®, Toxicologist, will attend.
This workshop seeks to elaborate shared strengths and gaps in support of a Weight of Evidence (WOE) approach relying on Alternative Testing Strategy (ATS) to inform context-specific decisions about risk from exposure to novel nanoscale materials. The goal is to inform the development of guidance for ATS use in overall approaches to those decisions. The full workshop agenda is available online.
Mark your calendars now for another key nanotechnology event, the Sustainable Nanotechnology Organization’s 2014 Conference, November 2-4, 2014, in Boston, MA, at which Lynn L. Bergeson will present the session “Current Developments in Nanotechnology Law and Policy.”
Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. has been at the forefront of addressing legal, regulatory, and policy implications of nanomaterials and nanotechnology worldwide. Recent B&C-authored works on nanotechnology include a chapter, “The Regulatory Implications of Nanotechnology,” in the recently published book, “Biointeractions of Nanomaterials“; the article “Nanomaterials and Public Disclosure: Are European Nano Product Registries the Answer?” in the Summer 2014 issue of Natural Resources & Environment, the magazine of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER); and “EPA Issues Stop Sales Order for Unregistered Food Containers Containing Nanosilver: What Are the Implications?” from Nanotechnology Law & Business, Volume 11, Issue 3, 2014. B&C also publishes the “Nano and Other Emerging Chemical Technologies Blog.”
