Overview:
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the most comprehensive reform measure created to prevent food-borne illness. Enacted in 2011, FSMA includes massive legislative changes aimed to prevent food-borne diseases. One of the FSMA foundational rules, Mitigation Strategies to Protect against Intentional Adulteration, requires non-exempt entities to develop the appropriate preventive measures by July 26, 2019, a date that is fast-approaching. This webinar will cover key aspects of the rule, review strategies for ensuring compliance with major provisions of the rule, including preparation of a Food Defense Plan, and suggest measures to ensure your business is prepared for the July 26, 2019, deadline.
Topics Covered:
- Introduction to FSMA;
- Scope of rule and terminology;
- Food Defense Plan considerations;
- Pitfalls and discussion on how to comply with the rule; and
- Tools for compliance.
