Registration Opens for Nano4Earth Roundtable Discussion on Capture of GHGs

Lynn L. Bergeson Carla N. Hutton

Registration is open for Nano4EARTH’s November 2, 2023, roundtable discussion on nanotechnology-enabled greenhouse gas (GHG) capture technologies that could help accelerate net-zero goals. The National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) states that although full-scale deployment of many nanotechnology-based GHG capture solutions could take longer than four years, the discussion “will focus on nearer-term opportunities for impact that could pave the way toward larger-scale implementation.” According to NNCO, these opportunities could have a near-term impact on reaching net-zero carbon emission, sustainable development, and overall climate targets. The discussion will feature invited experts from different sectors and backgrounds who will discuss topics ranging from exciting research and development (R&D) opportunities to commercialization challenges. In-person and virtual registration is open.

NNCO notes that the topic of this roundtable was identified at the Nano4EARTH Kick-off Workshop (summary readout and video archive) “as a particularly promising area that could have an impact in a short timeframe (four years or less).” This roundtable is the third of four.
