NanoHarmony Releases Tool to Guide Stakeholders through OECD TG/GD Development Process

Lynn L. Bergeson Carla N. Hutton

NanoHarmony announced on November 10, 2023, the release of the NanoHarmony OECD TG/GD Process Mentor, an interactive web-based tool to guide stakeholders through the development process of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Test Guidelines (TG) and Guidance Documents (GD). NanoHarmony states that it developed the NanoHarmony OECD TG/GD Process Mentor to highlight the involvement of key institutions in the OECD Test Guidelines Programme, and their incentives to take part in the TG development. According to NanoHarmony, it provides guidance and tips on how to develop or adapt TGs and GDs, including when and how to prepare for required activities, key start and finish dates of the development process, and who to involve in which activities and when. NanoHarmony notes that potential users include governments “train[ing] the next generation of regulatory scientists.” For this purpose, the Process Mentor also hosts the NanoHarmony training material that was developed as part of the project. NanoHarmony states that the NanoHarmony training material provides a low-level entry into the topic of standards and harmonized OECD TGs and how science can contribute.
